HEY.
you may know me as some combo of brittany wechsler, britt wolf, or BWEX, but however you may know me, you’re well aware that i’m an avid wanderer with a lust for all things wonder. as someone who has worked in the hospitality PR space for more than a decade, and having lived in major cities from Miami (born + raised), Brooklyn, and Los Angeles before settling down in Long Beach, i travel (often) for both work + play — and with my not-so-secret OCD + hoarding tendencies, i’ve accumulated + built out lists for an embarrassing amount of places, whether i’ve traveled there or not. aka i’m that default person friends tend to hit up when they’re heading somewhere NEW and want the hits.
which brings me to BWEX WANDERS — a central place where i plan to share lists of actual eat+drink+do+stay options that i visit irl, research for myself or curate for my family/friends, so we all have easy access (and so you stop nagging me for them ;) ). think less comprehensive guide with background on a destination and more top hits for where you should go to check out all ~the spots~ (with plenty of options based on what you’re in the mood for). some may include mini itineraries from a recent trip so you can see options, tips, or nuggets of wisdom i learned along the way that might be helpful—while others will be down + dirty—but hopefully all will help guide you on your way (and i’m always happy to answer any questions/help where i can, ofc — just drop a comment).
either way, expect to find recs leaning more towards the spots that fill you with wonder + make you want to wander: vibey restaurants with light + bright yet bold small plates over heavy steakhouse or super high-end joints (although anything notable most likely will get a shout out); natty/low intervention wine bars over cocktail lounges (but always a good dive bar!); design-forward boutique hotels with a sense of place over big box or uber luxury hotels (but expect a range of options usually); cultural institutions/museums(history+contemporary art)/architecture tours because your girl is still a history buff; curated home good or vintage store for the perfect (usable) souvenir; more beach/chill or hiking options over extreme outdoors activities (although i may be down! you never know!); and much, much more.
